Southern Financials was founded by Kristin Sharma in 2021 after she spent years running and later selling her own small business, Modern Day Masala. Through that experience, she discovered that one of her favorite parts of ownership was not just building the business, but understanding how the business worked.

With a background in accounting, business operations, and software, Kristin started Southern Financials to help other business owners get a clear picture of their finances and build the structure they need to grow.

Today, Southern Financials provides client accounting services for businesses that need more than basic bookkeeping. Our team helps with bookkeeping and financial operations, accounts payable and receivable management, payroll processing, financial reporting, QuickBooks integration, and fractional CFO support — always with confidentiality, professionalism, and the client’s best interest in mind.

Kristin

President

Fun Fact: Kristin’s favorite creative outlet is cooking.

Kristin brings nine years of accounting and financial experience to Southern Financials, along with an applied mathematics degree from Georgia Tech and first-hand experience as a business owner.

What Kristin enjoys most is that every day looks different. One day, she may be helping a client evaluate the purchase of a new rental property, and the next, she may be setting up a chart of accounts for a new business.

Her favorite part of the work is reviewing financial reports with clients and helping them finally understand what the numbers mean. She loves seeing the “aha” moment when a report they have looked at many times suddenly becomes clear and useful.

Margaret

VP of Operations

Fun Fact: Margaret has never met a stranger and is upbeat, honest, and easy to talk to.

Margaret helps keep Southern Financials organized and moving forward, supporting client needs, internal tasks, and day-to-day operations. She works closely with Kristin across the details that help the team stay responsive, organized, and focused on client care.

Before joining Southern Financials, Margaret earned a master’s degree in Special Education and worked as a teacher and educational diagnostician. That experience gives her an analytical and compassionate lens in her work with clients and the Southern Financials team.

Hailey

VP of Accounting

Fun Fact: Hailey is always picking up a new hobby

Hailey supports Southern Financials clients with organization, accuracy, and a problem-solving mindset. She enjoys helping clients keep their finances clear, organized, and on track.

With a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology from Kennesaw State University, Hailey brings a systems-minded approach to accounting, workflows, and client support.

When she is not working, you can usually find her with her miniature schnauzer or exploring a new coffee shop.

Ozzie

Fun Fact: When not on office patrol, Ozzie enjoys checking in on the four-legged friends of Hidden Gem Farm.
